1.Where do you get your style inspiration from ?

Honestly I think my love for fashion and all things glam and girlie come from my Nannie. She was the ultimate glamour Queen. 7 days a week she would have full hair & make up, a fab outfit and all her jewellery and accessories on point, even if she knew she wasn’t leaving the house 🤣 She had 9 children, I don’t know how she did it, but she did. She wouldn’t even answer the phone without her glam on 😍🤣

These days I get most of my inspiration from Instagram. I love looking at other peoples style and glamour. I follow lots of stylish women and love Mary’s try ons.

2.Your go to feel good piece in your wardrobe?

I am sucker for coats and jackets. Every year I love buying different jackets and coats to see me through the year. You can have the simplest outfit on, throw on a good coat or leather jacket, a blazer, a trench coat or a denim jacket and suddenly you look put together. They can literally transform an outfit. If I was to pick one piece I wear over and over and makes me feel great if my khaki gilet with gold button details from Divine. I have worn it to death, it instantly makes me feel more stylish. I want one in every colour.

3.What inspired you to open your Own salon.

After the leaving cert I took a CAO course and on the 2nd day realised it wasn’t the right road for me. My parents insisted I did a course so I wouldn’t waste the year so I said I would give a beauty course a bash, so I kind of fell into it really! I liked the beauty course but about 6 months in, I took a job in a beauty salon and realised I absolutely loved working in a salon. I was 18 (I’ve just turned 40) so it’s all I have ever known. I’m lucky enough to say I ADORE my job. I love all of the different elements about salon life. My favorite feeling is seeing someone perk up from treatments, and the feel good factor involved. I also love the confidence having treatments done can give someone. A simple spray tan can make someone feel a million dollars instantly, it’s magic really! I also love working as part of a beauty team. I’m so proud of the team we have built in Bella and ME. They are all such positive, beautiful girls inside and out.

4.Piece of advice for budding young entreprenurs.

I think to create your own business you have eat, breathe and sleep it. You have to be passionate about whatever your business is. I genuinely enjoy working in a beauty salon as much as I did 20 years ago, as the old saying says “if you do something you love you will never work a day in your life”

I love that you have the power to create whatever type of business you want.

I remember someone saying to me a few years ago- “create your own culture” at the time I had no idea what this meant… but with Bella & me I feel we have built a culture. Our culture is to be a team of positive, professional therapists who take pride in their work. Im so lucky to have a team around me that have similar visions and goals. All of the girls are very positive people and that’s essential for our culture. I feel this also attracts an amazing positive clientele. We love what we do and clients love coming to us. We love to make people feel looked after and good about themselves and that’s what we are all about.

There are definitely ups and downs to any business but you learn from the bad and the good outweighs the bad.

5.Favourite Piece on www.Divine.ie

This Gorgous Bomber…My fav colours are green and pink and I adore coats so there is no suprise here.

Think It’s Sold out now though.

6.When did you come across Divine?

Oh gosh 😅 I can’t remember exactly when but it’s at least 13 years ago! My sister In law Elaine worked there at the time and always had fab clothes on. I have shopped in Divine ever since. Anyone who knows me knows I mostly dress in Divine clothes and I’m always so proud when people ask my where my coat/dress is from. When you buy from Divine you have the clothes forever so I always think they are such an investment. I genuinely still wear my Divine pieces from over 10 years ago.

Mary and her team have created an amazing brand over the years, they always want you to look and feel your best. I know how much they love helping their clients put an outfit together. I have also been lucky enough to be part of their fashion shows since 2010, it’s always so much fun. It’s everything I love rolled into one day – make up, girlie chats, bubbles, fashion, styling and usually a little night out after I absolutely love it 💗

Thank you so much Divine xxx.
